Tutorials are an excellent academic opportunity for qualified learners to broaden their knowledge and for experts to propagate recent advancements in the field of Web-based 3D technology. For the Web3D 2016 edition, we are looking for high quality tutorial submissions of 45 minutes to 1.5 hours in length to teach and enable the audience the fluent application of such technologies, specifically of the following kind:
- Mixed- and Augmented Reality (including experience with current standardization processes)
- Advanced rendering techniques for Web-based applications
- Experience with VR devices such as the Oculus Rift and accompanying user experience studies
- HTML5 and web-based 3D gaming platforms
- Large-scale 3D asset creation and management pipelines
- Encoding, streaming and rendering of (large-scale) models, animations or virtual worlds
- Cultural heritage and digital preservation
- Hybrid rendering architectures
A Web3D tutorial proposal submission (1 page) should include:
- lecturer names, affiliation and contact information
- title of the course and a single-sentence summary
Proposal should describe the topic of interest, covered subjects, learning objectives and the inteneded audience, including any prerequisites and the level of difficulity. Submitters should also inform the committee about the intended duration and audio/visual support requirements. Submitted tutorials do not have to present purely scientific contributions, but should provide the experience with the presented techniques which is valuable to the greater community. If accepted, proposers will be asked to provide a biography paragraph for each presenter, a representative image, and publishable course notes suitable for use in the conference web site and promotional materials.
